'Freedom of Fear is an insanely gifted bunch, and their musical abilities are on full display throughout an album that revels in synth-drenched drama, blackened aggression, bruising heft, and dazzling technicality. The young outfit ooze confidence and astonishing musical skill' - Angry Metal Guy on Carpathia
Freedom of Fear have steadily earned their reputation as one of Australia’s tightest and most captivating extreme metal acts, honing their live show touring with high profile bands such as Dethklok, Carcass, The Black Dahlia Murder and Fleshgod Apocalypse, plus supporting other heavyweights such as Jinjer, Thy Art Is Murder, Soilwork, Obituary and Obscura. Most recently, they made their major international festival debut at Hammersonic (Indonesia) to thousands of new fans, followed by an extensive European tour supporting Ne Obliviscaris. Their intense gothic-esque live presence, virtuosic performances and critically acclaimed albums have organically built them a passionate grass roots fan base across Australia, and globally in the underground metal scene.
In 2022 Freedom of Fear released their highly rated second album Carpathia, which debuted at #3 on the AIR Independent charts and garnered significant attention from the global metal community. Not limited by the borders of down under, Carpathia features legendary drummer Hannes Grossmann (ex-Necrophagist, Obscura), in addition to mixing by V. Santura (Triptykon, ex-Celtic Frost), both hailing from faraway Germany.
Freedom of Fear were the first ever metal band to perform at the prestigious Adelaide Guitar Festival in 2023. Directed by renowned classical guitarist Slava Grigoryan, the festival allowed the band to showcase their virtuosity alongside some of the worlds top classical, jazz and blues musicians. As part of the festival, they recorded a special live cover of Cacophony's 'Concerto'.
