Since launching their debut album Nocturnal Gates, Freedom of Fear have earned their reputation as one of Australia’s tightest and most engaging live metal acts. Honing their musicianship through touring with Carcass, The Black Dahlia MurderFleshgod Apocalypse and supporting heavyweights such as JinjerThy Art Is Murder, SoilworkObituaryObscura, plus playing many notable festivals around the country, the Adelaide band have steadily risen to prominence in the Australian metal scene.

In 2022 Freedom of Fear released their critically acclaimed second album Carpathia, which debuted at #3 on the AIR Independent charts and garnered significant attention from the global metal community. Not limited by the borders of down under, Carpathia features legendary drummer Hannes Grossmann (ex-NecrophagistObscura), in addition to mixing by V. Santura (Triptykon, ex-Celtic Frost), both hailing from faraway Germany.

In 2023 Freedom of Fear were the first ever metal band to perform at the prestigious Adelaide Guitar Festival. Directed by renowned classical guitarist Slava Grigoryan, the festival allowed the band to showcase their virtuosity in front of a new audience.

More recently, Freedom of Fear were invited to tour with the legendary bands Carcass and The Black Dahlia Murder around Australia, opening to sold-out theatres and gaining a horde of new fans across the country.

'Freedom of Fear is an insanely gifted bunch, and their musical abilities are on full display throughout an album that revels in synth-drenched drama, blackened aggression, bruising heft, and dazzling technicality. The young outfit ooze confidence and astonishing musical skill' - Angry Metal Guy
